Pathways to Work

Pathways to Work is a new South Yorkshire initiative offering a free employment service to help out-of-work residents in Doncaster, including those with health conditions, disabilities or neurodivergance get into, or back into, employment.

What is Pathways to Work and how can it help you?

Pathways to Work is a partnership between the NHS, regional and local government, employers and the voluntary & community sector that provides you with personalised support to overcome barriers in your way to help you access employment that's right for you.

Through Pathways to Work you'll receive:

  • A dedicated keyworker to help develop your skills and confidence, and support your job search
  • Specialist support to overcome any obstacles which may be preventing you from working, including health barriers
  • A flexible ‘barrier-busting’ fund to help you access work and stay in employment
  • The chance to apply for local vacancies not available elsewhere

Pathways to Work support is available to residents who:

  • Live in Doncaster (or South Yorkshire)
  • Are economically inactive (this means you're out-of-work and not currently looking for a job, and not receiving jobseeker support through Jobcentre Plus)
  • Are aged 16+ and have the right to live and work in the UK

We support people of all backgrounds

Whilst many people we support have underlying health and mental health conditions - every situation is unique and we support people with caring and familiy commitments, those that have retired and are looking to get back into work, those who have had a change in circumstances - such as divorces or realease from prison and many others. The support is unique to you and built around your needs, so whatever your own situation, get in touch with our friendly team.

What are the benfits of Pathways to Work to me?

  • Improved health and wellbeing

What does Pathways to Work mean for local organisations and partners?

Pathways to Work has a focus integrating the delivery of health, employment and skills services to provide complete, person-centred support.

Pathways to Work will align funding across the Economic Inactivity Trailblazer, Health Growth Accelerator, UK Shared Prosperity Fund (People and Skills), existing funded delivery and localised support offers, such as the Advance Employment Hub - to form a single, cohesive work and skills support system.

Locally in Doncaster we’re commissioning services, working with local partners and recruiting to key roles that help us to test, learn and innovate at a local level; embedding our relational approach to working with employers and communities to support residents to thrive in life and work.

Whether you’re interested in providing tailored support as a local organisation or interested in funding opportunities, call our team on 01302 735554 or email advanceemploymenthub@doncaster.gov.uk.
